Peru
Peru is one the few countries that has tightly held on to its roots and traditions when it comes to arts and music. This has never meant abandoning the contemporary waves and foreign influence but rather taking a bite with preservation of traditions. That is why Spanish and Bolivian music have found a permanent place in the heart of Pervuvian musicians. The playlist of this show starts with some traditional tracks and continues with some folk music and features instruments such as Charango and Bandurrias. We ended the coverage of the music from Peru with two track by two Peruvian rock bands: Flor and ZINPLE. Lastly, we revisited some old friends of the show in our Global Shuffle segment… make sure to check out their MySpace pages.
