Contemporary Music of Spain
The idea for show was inspired by this question that I in my mind all day today: What would kind of music would I hear if I were to “Café-hop” in
Spain and see different bands. Well… that would be a an easy question if I were in Spain and had a lot of time on my hand but luckily there’s something called Internet (I am sure you know what it is) and I started to “MySpace-hop” and the result is the following playlist. Historically, Spain has been a commercial and cultural hub and nothing better than the music of this country manifests the cultural diversity of Spain as a result of that. Tracks that are featured in the playlist below are traces of this diversity in the modern Spanish culture and influences such as Middle Eastern, reggae, Celtic, traditional Latin, etc. can easily be observed.
Also make sure to check out this edition of Global Shuffle where featured the music of our friends on MySpace.com.
