World Music on Continental Drift

Felipe brings you the music and artists of the Czech Republic on this edition of Continental Drift. With roots in the opera and traditional music of Bohemia and Moravia, the music of this European country has become somewhat of a mix of many different, diverse genres, from ska to bluegrass, traditional to contemporary, even a television music theme from a native Czech! Just what you would expect from WREK and some change

The second hour in this program is particularly unique, because due to technical difficulties (Felipe loves those), an old record from WREK’s vault’s Continental Drift shelf was dusted off and played in its entirety for a change in a (very rare) installment of a beta-testing-stage segment called “World Album Hour!”. Felipe regrets that the album did not conform to the night’s theme, but it still showcased the world music we all love to hear Mondays from 10 PM until midnight!
