This is not so surprising given that almost every one of the 17,508 islands has its own cultural and historical identity. Most of the musical instruments used in Indonesian (traditional and folk) music such as metallphone drums are common among southeast Asian countries such as Cambodia and Malaysia but yet their music is very distinct very each other. Playlist of this show features variety of traditional and folk Indonesian tracks followed by some contemporary pop songs.

We started the show with two tracks by Min Xiao-Fen playing the Pipa, one the hardest instruments to master, followed by a few traditional Japanese and Indonesian songs. And we lowered the tempo to “Tibetan Meditation Music” and ended the coverage of Asian music with two beautiful Chinese folk music by two unknown artist that I came across while looking for songs for the show.
